F.I.T. stands for Families in Transition, a designation used by Springdale Public Schools for students and families facing homelessness or housing instability. Through F.I.T. Christmas, Fellowship Rogers partners with the school district to bring joy, dignity, and the love of Christ to these families each holiday season.
F.I.T. Families.
The Families in Transition (FIT) program is Springdale’s district program to assist students and their families in temporary or transitional housing situations. This program was born from the McKinney-Vento Act, which provides youth experiencing homelessness with the support and resources they need to access a stable, high-quality education, regardless of their housing situation, by addressing barriers to enrollment, transportation, and school stability.
According to the McKinney-Vento Act, children and youth are considered homeless if they lack a fixed, regular, adequate nighttime residence:
To date, Springdale has identified over 500 PreK-12 F.I.T. students enrolled in Springdale Schools. This number does not include non-school-aged siblings or siblings who may be enrolled in other educational opportunities in NWA.

Once you register, you’ll receive an email with each child’s needs form and instructions.
We estimate an average of $100–$125 per child, covering both essential and wish list items.
If you don’t see the verification email in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk folder first.
If it’s not there, the email you entered may have had a typo.
You can:
Go back to the family list, select your family again, and resubmit the form with the correct email.
Try using a different email address.

We’re happy to assist you!
Each child’s gift list includes:
One sweatshirt (or sleeper/diaper set for babies and toddlers)
One pillow with pillowcase (unless declined)
One throw blanket (unless declined)
Two wish gifts chosen from their list
Please adhere to the list to ensure equitable gifts among siblings and to prevent excess for transient families.
A throw is a small blanket, typically rolled up for sale. It’s not as large as a traditional bed blanket.
Wrap each gift and remove prices, but leave barcodes on in case exchanges are needed.
Label every gift with the child’s first name and family number (found at the top of your needs form).
Place all wrapped gifts into a trash bag, laundry bag, or box labeled with the family number.
Be mindful of bag size—social workers will be loading gifts into their vehicles for delivery.
You may place the pillow in its pillowcase and back in its plastic wrap, no paper wrapping needed.
Tag it with the child’s name and family number.
Throws can be wrapped or rolled neatly and tagged.
We recommend using a canvas laundry bag to hold all the gifts. These are affordable and reusable for the family.
If you choose to monogram laundry bags as a special gesture, please place them inside a black trash bag for transport. This helps keep the surprise and avoids drawing attention during delivery.
Remove the price tags but keep the barcodes visible. This allows parents to exchange items if sizing doesn’t fit.
Yes! But we ask you to consider a gift card for food for the family. You may place it in a Christmas card or envelope and add it to the hygiene bag they will receive when you come to drop off. You may add some fun candy to the children’s gifts or a gift card for pizza one night. This would be very special. We do not recommend overgifting from the wish list, as this could create false expectations for future programs.
We don’t recommend Walmart or Target cards as “wish” items for students. However, specific gift cards, such as Xbox, PlayStation, teen clothing stores, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, or similar retailers, are great choices.
High school students especially enjoy gift cards that let them shop for themselves or spend time with friends at places like Starbucks or Taco Bell.
Some kids have big wishes, too. While some requests may seem extravagant, the circumstances rarely are. For instance, if a child asks for a video game, it may be because they share a home where another child has a console. If something is too expensive for your budget, like Beats headphones or designer shoes, feel free to buy a similar, more affordable alternative.

Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading gifts.
The family number ensures each package goes to the correct child and family. It also helps volunteers organize deliveries efficiently.
Yes! Please contact elpennington@fellowshipnwa.org to coordinate an alternate drop-off time before December 10th.
No. Please bring all gifts to the drop-off at Fellowship Rogers. School social workers will deliver the gifts directly to families before Christmas to maintain privacy and ensure proper delivery.
All items are collected by schools and delivered to families the day after drop-off. Each delivery includes a bilingual message sharing the meaning of Christmas and the heart behind this act of giving.
This simple act of generosity lifts a burden from parents and reminds children they are seen, valued, and loved. It’s a practical way to live out our faith and share Christ’s love with our community.
“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
— 2 Corinthians 9:11
